Matteo Leta, a member of the Seminario de Estudios sobre el Renacimiento and currently MSCA Cofund Eutopia Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Study of the University of Warwick, has been awarded the Prix d’Encouragement à de jeunes écrivains 2024 by the Fondation Cino et Simone Del Duca upon the recommendation of the Commission des prix de l’Académie française. The prize was established in 1952 and redefined in 2005, and it is one of the foundation’s oldest awards, recognising young French-speaking writers. Matteo was awarded the award for his book Le Trompeur Trompé (Paris: Les Belles Lettres, 2023), which explores the representation of charlatans in the Italian and French Renaissance.
