Xavier Tubau is a postdoctoral researcher (Atracción de Talento-CAM) in the Department of Hispanic Literatures and Bibliography at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He holds a PhD in Spanish Philology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, has been a Beatriu de Pinós, Juan de la Cierva and Ramón y Cajal postdoctoral researcher, and was tenured professor at Hamilton College (USA). His research interests are political and cultural history in Early Modern Europe. His research work explores the interrelationships between religious ideas and political practice. He has undertaken research stays funded by the American Philosophical Society, the Huntington Library and the AGAUR of Catalonia. He was Director of the Hamilton College programme in Spain. He is currently a member of the Philology, Literature and Arts panel of the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI).
