Antonio Gerace



Antonio Gerace received his PhD in Religious Studies in 2017 from the KU Leuven (Belgium), where he also worked as postdoctoral researcher (2017/2018) on the development of Biblical studies in the Early Modern Low-Countries. He is (co)-author of a number of articles and books-chapters, and he published his first monograph Biblical Scholarship in Leuven in the Golden Sixteenth Century in 2019. From 2018 to 2023 he worked as researcher at the Fondazione per le Scienze Religiose “Giovanni XXIII” (Bologna, Italy), where he first focused on the education of secular clergy before the Council of Trent, writing his second monograph which is planned to be published in 2024. Moreover, he worked on the translations of the formulas of faith (Apostles’ Creed and Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed) in the Early Modern Era. In 2020 he obtained the Italian Scientific Habilitation as Associate Professor in History of Christianity.
